The joy that "S" and "T" have brought to our lives is indescribable. There is a place in our hearts that has ached for so many years as we have prayed and yearned for children. For the past 7 years, we have stood with our family and friends as they have been blessed with children and there were days when it was just more than our hearts could bear. We would pray and ask God to bless us with a baby. We would cry out and want to know why can't we have one? Many years and tears later I understand that on those really hard days, God was right there with us. As our Heavenly Father, He cried with us and wanted to bless us. But just as a parent knows what is best for their children, our Father in Heaven knew what was best for us. He knew the best thing for us right now were two precious little boys that needed a family. God knew that these little boys needed and deserved a mommy and a daddy that would show them and teach them how to love and serve God. Even though these boys are not connected to us biologically, there is a connection that is just as deep and just as special. One day we will get to tell these little boys the story of how God brought them to us. We will get to tell them that because of His love for them, He choose the perfect family. He fit us together and bonded our hearts in a way that only He could do. We might not share biological markers, but we share spiritual markers that can never be broken.
Even though we don't have any official word that the boys will be coming to us, we are trusting what God has done up to this point. We are claiming His promises and leaning into Him as our Father. We feel a little like Joshua at Jericho. We've been walking around the walls, praising God all the way. Tomorrow we are going to celebrate Mother's Day with our boys. We are claiming this day as our day of rejoicing! We are blowing our trumpets and singing loudly. We leave the victory in God's hands!
Thank you Lord for all that You are and all that You have done. May we always remember to give You the honor and praise. You are worthy to be praised!
