One of the things that we are quickly learning about our boys is that they are very different. I know that sounds like a very "duh" statement but we have to remember that we've been their parents for about 4 1/2 months. Everyday we are learning something new about them. Just recently we have learned that Zachary is very verbal child. No...that's not a nice way of saying that he talks a lot! He had a developmental assessment done by a child psychologist and she performed an I.Q. test on him. He is very strong in the verbal section. His use of grammar, context and vocabulary is very good. The things that come out of his mouth at times leave Sean and I speechless and on our knees praying for wisdom! Daniel is very daring. He will be the child that goes head first into ANYTHING! The other day he was riding his big wheel and proceeded to go straight down our steep driveway without thinking twice. We shake our heads again and pray for more wisdom! :)
All this to say, that some would think that Daniel doesn't talk much. Quite frankly, there are times when he can't get a word in due to Zachary's talking! :) Well, Daniel proved us all wrong tonight. We were at church eating the traditional (Baptist) Wednesday night dinner. At our table was the 4 Nicholson's and our friends Michael and Shanna. They have a 6 1/2 month old name Jonathan. They boys love Jonathan. This is the same Jonathan that the boys gave their pacifiers to. At one point in the meal, Sean picked up Jonathan and was talking and playing with him. Daniel very suddenly became aware that his daddy was playing with another little boy. He frowned and said, "my daddy". We reassured him that Sean was still his daddy but that he was just playing with Baby Jonathan. That seemed to settle him for awhile. The next thing we know, Daniel is yelling.....
"No, No, Baby Jon-Jon...make mess.....not nice!"
Jonathan did what every 6 month old does and had grabbed Daniel's plate of food and dumped it on the table. Daniel let him know under no uncertain terms that it was not okay to mess with his food. Jonathan could borrow his daddy for a few minutes but not his food! It was so funny!

My boys are also opposites on the personality spectrum. That makes wisdom a DAILY prayer request!!
